SEO & structured data

Every page gets its own Google title and description, and blocks like the FAQ automatically send structured data along.

A beautiful site is only worth something if people can find it. That is why search engine optimisation in Obelisk is not an extra chore but built in: every page has its own Google title, description and share image, and the technical groundwork is set up correctly by itself.

Configurable per page

For every page you set the title and description as they should appear in Google, plus the image that shows when someone shares the page on social media or WhatsApp. Leave it empty and Obelisk picks sensible defaults. Pages that should not be found (yet) are switched to 'no index' with a single toggle.

Handled automatically

The sitemap and robots rules for search engines are maintained by themselves, old addresses are forwarded neatly with redirects, and on a multilingual site search engines automatically receive the language link (hreflang). Blocks such as the FAQ and the breadcrumb trail also send structured data along — extra information that gives you a shot at eye-catching search results. Practical writing tips are in the SEO tips.

Example
